An intersection in north Wichita and an on-ramp to I-135 will close Wednesday for two months.

The intersection of 29th Street North and Hydraulic Avenue will close, along with the 29th Street North ramp to southbound I-135.

“The closure is necessary for girder erection operations over 29th Street North/Hydraulic Avenue,” according to a news release from the Kansas Department of Transportation. The work should take around 60 days, depending on the weather.

Drivers wanting to go south on I-135 can detour north on Ohio Street, east on 37th Street and south on Hillside to westbound K-96, where they can continue to southbound I-135. They should plan for added travel time.
