Three people, including a Marion woman and her 3-year-old son, were hospitalized after a two-vehicle wreck Friday morning in Harvey County, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.

The KHP report said the boy had “suspected minor injury” and the two drivers had “suspected serious injury.”

The 29-year-old Marion woman, who social media posts show is the mother of the toddler, was headed east on Highway 50 in a 2011 Ford Expedition when she “failed to yield,” the report stated, and turned left in front of a 38-year-old Wichita woman driving west on Highway 50 in a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500.

The wreck happened at 11:49 a.m. when the Marion woman went to turn onto North East Lake Road. The Ford Expedition was hit on the front right corner and came to rest on the north shoulder, a trooper wrote on the KHP crash log.

The Dodge Ram spun and came to rest in the westbound lanes.

The Marion woman was taken to Wesley Medical Center; her child and the other driver were taken to Newton Medical Center.
