Wichita woman dies after being hit by car while crossing road
A 34-year-old Wichita woman died after being hit by a car Thursday night in south Wichita.
Marjorielle Evans died at the scene.
The accident was reported at 7:26 p.m. in the 4900 block of South Meridian. A 26-year-old Wichita woman was driving north on Meridian in her 2017 Hyundai Accent when she hit Evans, who was crossing the road on foot and was not seen by the driver, according to Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Nathan Gibbs.
“There were no indications of intoxication in either party,” Gibbs said in a news release.
The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
