Police plan DUI saturation patrol in west Wichita
Wichita police will conduct a DUI saturation patrol on the west side of the city Thursday.
The patrol is an effort “to remove drunk drivers from city streets,” Sgt. Bill Stevens said in a prepared statement.
There have been two deaths in Wichita this year as a result of impaired drivers, police officials said. There were 10 in all of 2014.
Funding for the project is being provided by a state grant.
