Wichita man, 24, dies after car hits truck head-on south of Haysville
A 24-year-old man died Monday in a head-on collision south of Haysville in southern Sedgwick County.
The man was identified as Curtis W. Vickers of Wichita, a Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office news release said.
Sheriff’s deputies were sent at 7:57 p.m. to the 9600 block of S. Broadway for a report of a crash. Vickers had been heading south on Broadway in a silver Kia Optima when he crossed the center line into the northbound lanes. The Kia struck a brown-colored Chevy Silverado truck head-on.
Vickers died at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. The man and woman in the Silverado were taken to a hospital. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.
