A damaged sewer main pipe in north Wichita has closed off part of 21st Street for the rest of the week.

Shortly before 5:30 p.m. Monday, a three-foot sewer main was damaged by construction work. That prompted the closure of 21st Street from Broadway to Mosley in both directions, the city of Wichita said over social media.

“Access to local businesses is still maintained. Crews are cleaning the pipe to assess the damage,” the social media post said.

Repairs to the sewer main pipe are expected to last through the end of the week.
