Firefighter taken to hospital unresponsive after house fire in south Wichita
A Wichita firefighter was taken to a hospital unresponsive after a house fire Thursday in south Wichita, a Sedgwick County Emergency Communications supervisor said.
First responders were sent at 2:55 p.m. to a house fire in the 8900 block of South Laura Street, the supervisor said.
The supervisor did not give details on the firefighter’s injuries or how he got them. The firefighter was not identified.
The fire department has scheduled a news conference for 6:30 tonight.
Responding agencies included the Wichita Fire Department, Sedgwick County Fire Department and Sedgwick County EMS.
