Maize South high staff member placed on leave after ‘inappropriate use of sarcasm’

A Maize South High School staff member was placed on administrative leave after an “inappropriate use of sarcasm” during class, the Maize School District said Tuesday afternoon.

The district said law enforcement investigated and determined that there was no threat to students or the school.

“The situation was not a safety concern,” a statement from the district said..

No other information was provided about the staff member, what they said or how long they have been with the district.

“The district is handling the situation as a personnel matter and, as such, is unable to provide any further information,” the district said in the statement.
