The State Farm Insurance on Rockhill is hosting an open house Tuesday to help raise donations for United Methodist Open Door Inc.

State Farm Insurance at 7829 E. Rockhill, Suite 402, will be open from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The open house includes activities for children and custard cookie sandwiches provided by Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.

This is the 50th year of the United Methodist Open Door program, which provides food, clothing, case management and shelter for underprivileged people.

The Open Door has six programs in Wichita: the Homeless Resource Center, Klothes Kloset, the Community Food Ministry, the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, the Vision Quest homeless prevention program and the Family Rapid Rehousing program. Donations of gently-used clothing for adults and children as well as nonperishable food can be used to further the agency’s mission.

Donations will be accepted until Thursday at the State Farm Rockhill location.
