A 24-year-old man died after a motorcycle accident that occurred south of Wichita on Sunday.

Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded shortly before 4:30 p.m. to an injury accident call at 5400 E. 47th Street South, which is south of McConnell Air Force Base.

They arrived and found Luciano Jorge-Garcia of Wichita. He was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries, sheriff’s office Cpt. Keith Allen said in a news release.

Investigators learned that Jorge-Garcia was heading eastbound on 47th Street on a motorcycle when he lost control, left the road and was thrown off the motorcycle, the news release said.

There is no indication that Jorge-Garcia was impaired at the time of the crash, Allen said in an email.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
