A 29-year-old Wichita woman is not expected to live after an SUV collided with a tree Sunday night, authorities said.

Deputies with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office responded shortly before 10 p.m. to a call in the 4200 block of South Greenhaven in the Oaklawn-Sunview neighborhood, sheriff’s spokesperson Lt. Nathan Gibbs said in an email.

They found the driver of a black GMC SUV, who had left the road and struck a tree, the sheriff’s office said.

She was unresponsive and taken to a hospital, where “she was still alive but not expected to live,” Gibbs said on Monday.

The sheriff’s office thinks alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. The woman was alone in the SUV when the crash occurred, Gibbs said.
