Reward offered for information on shooting of Wichita pet dog
Storm, a 10-year-old dog shot multiple times last week with a pellet gun, has garnered some powerful friends.
Crime Stoppers of Wichita-Sedgwick County announced Wednesday it will pay $500 to the person who provides information leading to the arrest of the individual or group of people who shot Storm.
The tip can be anonymous, according to Gordon Bassham, executive director of the Wichita Crime Commission.
Storm is a Dalmatian and was injured fairly seriously with at least one deep wound in his leg and several others throughout his body. He and his family live in the Fox Ridge neighborhood of northwest Wichita.
In a news release issued Wednesday by Crime Stoppers, Basham said:
“Although it is the District Attorney’s decision regarding what charges to file in this case, we believe this incident is exceptional because it has touched many people and casts a shadow on the positive values of the citizens of Sedgwick County.”
Tips may be submitted 24 hours a day by calling 316-267-2111, or texting TIP217 and leaving a message to CRIMES (274637). Tips may also be submitted at www.WichitaCrimeStoppers.com.
Bassham emphasized that all methods of submitting information is anonymous.
