A 23-year-old Wichita man on a motorcycle died after a collision with a pickup truck downtown on Sunday, police spokesperson Juan Rebolledo said Tuesday.

Rafael Galviz-Marin died at the hospital after the collision with a Ford F-150. It was reported at 1:57 p.m. at West 2nd Street North and North Waco Avenue. The other driver wasn’t injured.

“The investigation is still ongoing, and speed (from the motorcycle) is believed to be the factor,” Rebolledo said in an email.

Galviz-Marin was westbound on 2nd Street North on a Kawasaki motorcycle. The driver of the truck was eastbound on the street and went to turn northbound on Waco.

Police are asking for anyone who saw the accident to call detectives at 316-350-3687.

This is the city’s 30th fatal accident and fatality of the year, with at least three involving a motorcycle, according to reports from police.
