Four injured in Kansas Turnpike rollover accident
Four people were injured Monday night in a rollover accident on the Kansas Turnpike south of Towanda.
One person was ejected from the vehicle, according to a Butler County dispatcher.
The accident occurred at 8:05 p.m. in the left lane of northbound traffic at Milepost 61.7, near the Towanda Service Center, when a passenger reached over and grabbed the steering wheel, causing the 2009 Chevy Cobalt to roll, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority accident report.
The driver of the car, a 19-year-old woman from Topeka, is in serious condition at Wesley Medical Center. The front seat passenger, a 22-year-old man from Wakefield, is in fair condition.
The other two passengers were not admitted to the hospital.
