If you’re on the lookout for a waterfront home in Wichita complete with an elevator and private beach, you’re in luck.

The latest feature in our Million Dollar Listings series is a single-family residence built in 2011 and on the market for $1,239,800 in northwest Wichita. With frontage on a private lake, the home boasts four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, a half bath and three kitchens, including one outside.

“Upon entering the home, you will be greeted by a grand foyer that leads to a spacious and open living room with stunning views of the lake,” the Zillow listing reads. “The knotty alder wood beams that run across the ceiling of the living room are just beautiful. It ties into all the birch and knotty alder woodwork though out the home.”

The home, listed by Gina Greenlee with J.P. Weigand & Sons, is located in the gated community Pier 37, located in the Maize School District.

The kitchen’s features include granite counter tops, an island and a walk-in pantry. The home’s primary suite includes views of the private lake and a bathroom with two vanities, a jetted tub and a walk-in shower. The property also has a space for an office and a safe room, along with a four-person elevator that goes up all three stories.

The property also features three covered garage spaces, a covered deck, patio and full waterfront access.

The home also includes a fully finished walk-out basement, a dining area in the kitchen and a formal dining area.

What’s the median home sale price in Wichita?

The end of July saw a median home sale price of $255,000 in the Wichita metro, according to data from real estate site Redfin. That figure increased, up from $227,250 July 3.

The beginning of June saw the highest median home sale price of the year at $260,000, Redfin reports.

Comparing previous years, July 2022 saw a $225,000 median home sale price in the area, a $30,000 difference to this July. The lowest median home sale price Redfin reported in the last five years was $120,000 in January 2018.

The overall median home sale price in south-central Kansas, which includes Sedgwick, Butler, Cowley and Sumner counties, was reported at $223,750 in July, according to the South Central Kansas MLS. Meanwhile, the median active listing price sat at $295,000.

The realtors association reported 1,321 active listings on the market at the end of that month. The average listing stayed a median of five days on the market. In July, 864 contracts were written up, with more than 1,000 pending.
