Triple-digit temperatures didn’t stop Wichita residents from heading to Riverfront Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

They were there to see the more than 100 vintage cars in the cross-country auto endurance race, the Great Race.

Wichita was one of the stops on the 2,300-mile trek that started June 24 in St. Augustine, Florida. It will end July 2 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The race started in 1983, and last made an appearance in Wichita in 2006.
