One man died after a car pursuit ended in a crash along the Kansas Turnpike on Saturday night.

That man was identified as 27-year-old Kejuan Shugart of Wichita, Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.

The incident was reported around 10:16 p.m. along I-35 in Lyon County. A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper was pursuing a 2017 Chevy Malibu that was being driven by 22-year-old Adonis Dailey of Wichita, the crash log said.

Shugart was in the passenger seat of the Malibu, the report said.

The trooper was pursuing Dailey northbound on I-35 when Shugart struck the rear of trailer that was being pulled by a semi truck. After colliding with the trailer, the Malibu struck the “median barrier wall multiple times,” the crash report read.
