Updated: Employee killed after being pinned at Wichita construction company, police say

A man in his 60s died while working at a construction company after getting pinned in an industrial accident, Sgt. Jerry Manuel said.

The death happened when a vehicle’s axle fell off and landed on the victim, a Sedgwick County Emergency Communications supervisor said.

The accident was reported about 2 p.m. at Wildcat Construction Company, 3219 W. May which is northeast of Pawnee and Southwest Boulevard. The man was pronounced dead by first responders at 2:30 p.m., Manuel said.

No other details were available.
