Kansas trooper identifies 19-year-old Wichita woman killed in Harvey County accident
A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper identified the 19-year-old Wichita woman killed Friday in a two-vehicle accident on a highway in rural Harvey County.
Lillyan Grace Koehn died at the scene and the driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, officials said.
The wreck happened around 1:05 p.m. on KS-15 in between 60th and 48th, which is north of North Newton.
Koehn was southbound in a 2007 Honda Accord when she left the road to the right, then overcorrected to the left, going into a sideways skid, a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper wrote in the crash log. A 40-year-old Newton woman, driving northbound in a 2016 Ford Escape, swerved off the road to the right to try and avoid a collision, the trooper wrote, but the vehicles collided in the east ditch.
