One person was found dead Friday morning in a Wichita house fire, according to battalion chief Kelly Ross.

Fire crews were called at 1:43 a.m. to a house fire in the 1100 block of South Wichita, which is near Lincoln and the Arkansas River, where they found flames coming from the home.

The person was found during a second search of the home after the fire was extinguished.

A fire investigator said late Friday morning that the fire was still being investigated. More details were not available Friday afternoon.
