A 4-year-old girl involved in a fiery rollover crash west of Wichita on Sunday evening has died, according to Lt. Nathan Gibbs of Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.

Gibbs said 32-year-old Britne Costello of Douglass, Kansas, was traveling west on MacArthur at about 20000 West with her two children, a 2-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, around 5 p.m.

Costello was passing another vehicle, overcorrected and left the roadway, causing the vehicle to roll and catch on fire, Gibbs said.

A sheriff’s deputy and several other people were able to get Costello and her children out of the vehicle. Costello’s 4-year-old daughter was taken a hospital in critical condition and later died, he said.

Costello and her 2-year-old son were taken to a hospital in serious condition, he said.
