Police identify woman, 63, who died in collision in Park City on Tuesday morning

Park City police department have identified a woman who died in a collision in Park City Tuesday morning.

Judy Ward, 63, of Valley Center died in the accident, Park City police chief Phil Bostian said in an email. The other driver involved was 34-year-old Lewis Toombs of Wichita.

The collision happened around 9:27 a.m. at the intersection of 85th Street North and Hydraulic in Park City. Toombs was southbound on Hydraulic in a large flatbed truck, Bostian said.

Ward was westbound on 85th Street in a car when Toombs “failed to yield to right of way at a stop sign at the intersection with 85th Street” and struck Ward’s car, Bostian said.

Ward died at the scene of the crash. Toombs was taken to a hospital. His condition is unknown at this time, Bostian said.

The Kansas Highway Patrol is assisting the Park City police department with the investigation.
