Crowded Kansas Humane Society reduces adoption fees for dogs, puppies Thanksgiving week

If you’ve been wanting to add a furry companion to your family, here’s your chance.

The Kansas Humane Society has been struggling with capacity issues the last several months. So it has reduced adoption fees for dogs, starting Wednesday.

The fees now will be $49 for adult dogs and $99 for puppies. The fees include spay/neuter, microchip and age appropriate vaccinations. No appointment is needed, and you can view available pets on kshumane.org

“We want our dogs to be in loving homes before the holidays,” said the society’s Chief Development Officer Shasta Lockwood in a news release.

The society is at 3313 N. Hillside in northeast Wichita.

The shelter will be closed Thanksgiving Day and Friday, but will be open this weekend.
