Fundraiser for Bread of Life food pantry is Saturday
The Bread of Life food pantry is hosting its second annual benefit fundraiser and auction to raise money for its yearly Thanksgiving turkey distribution.
The fundraiser runs from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the food pantry, 1301 E. Galena, south of Pawnee and Hydraulic, in Wichita. A food court opens immediately, followed by a silent auction at 6 p.m. and a live auction at 8. Among more than 200 auction items are hotel stays, artwork, Wichita State men’s basketball tickets, restaurant vouchers and collectibles.
Admission costs $25 per person, and includes dinner and $15 in auction bucks. Dessert is extra. Donations are welcome.
Organizers hope to raise $30,000 to cover the cost of distributing 1,750 turkeys and dinner trimmings to needy families this Thanksgiving. The food will be distributed Nov. 22.
