Public funeral service set for this week for Sedgwick County deputy Sidnee Carter

Funeral arrangements for Sedgwick County sheriff’s deputy Sidnee Carter will be held this week.

Carter died Friday night in a traffic accident while responding to a disturbance call. Carter was southbound on 135th Street West when her patrol vehicle collided with another vehicle heading west on 29th Street North.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 861 N. Socora.

The Honore Adversis Foundation is accepting donations on behalf of Carter’s family at www.honorduringadversity.org. Those donating will be asked to note for “SGSO Deputy Sidnee Carter.” Checks can also be mailed to the Honore Adversis Foundation at 477 N. Seneca. Those sending checks should write deputy Sidnee Carter in the memo line.
