One person dead, three injured in early morning wreck on Kellogg: Wichita police
One person was killed and three others injured, including a teenager with life-threatening injuries, in an early Saturday morning crash on eastbound Kellogg near Armour, according to Wichita police spokesman Trevor Macy.
Just before 2 a.m., police responded to a rollover wreck with two people inside of an SUV. The 48-year-old woman driving the vehicle lost control, hit the median and rolled the SUV, Macy said in a news release.
A 19-year-old woman who witnessed the incident was “rendering aid to the occupants,” Macy said, when she was struck by a motorcycle with two people on it. The motorcycle then crashed into the SUV.
The 38-year-old man driving the motorcycle died at the scene. Police have not yet released his name yet.
The teen who was helping the occupants of the SUV was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A female on the motorcycle and the woman driving the SUV were also taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. A 28-year-old man in the SUV was not injured.
The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
This is the 15th fatal wreck of the year and the 17th fatality, Macy said.
