One person died and another was injured in a reported head-on collision Thursday morning in the southbound lane of I-135, north of Wichita in Park City, an official said.

The two-vehicle crash was reported just before 6 a.m. on I-135 near 53rd Street North. At around 8 a.m., southbound traffic was backed up past 61st Street North. Tow trucks were on scene as of 8:45 a.m. Both vehicles had visible damage; one was extensive.

A Sedgwick County Emergency Communications supervisor said the initial report was that one person was code black and another was code blue. Code black means the person died; code blue means the person is unresponsive.
