Wichita man, 29, dies after being ejected from car in early morning accident
A 29-year-old Wichita man died in an early morning accident in north Wichita after losing control of the car he drove, hitting a pole and flipping the vehicle.
Andrew Ornelas was ejected from the vehicle, according to Wichita police spokesperson Chad Ditch.
First responders found Ornelas in the road with critical injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they think speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
The single-vehicle accident was reported at 12:58 a.m. Tuesday near 21st and Amidon. Ornelas was headed east on 21st when the crash occurred.
Wichita has had five fatal accidents with six deaths so far this year, according to police data.
