Wichita woman, 75, struck, killed by car in northeast Wichita, police say

Wichita police have identified a woman that was fatally injured in a northeast Wichita parking lot on Saturday.

Luella Beemer, 75, of Wichita, was struck by a vehicle in the 2600 block of N. Greenwich, police spokesperson Trevor Macy said. The 2600 block of N. Greenwich contains stores that are part of the Greenwich Place shopping center.

Officers arrived around 4:30 p.m. They found Beemer, who was injured, and took her to a hospital where she later died of her injuries, Macy said.

Investigators learned that Beemer was getting into her own vehicle when she was hit by a 15-year-old girl who was backing out of a parking space, Macy said.

The investigation is ongoing.
