If you’re scheduled for a WIC appointment next week, you may get a call soon telling you not to go in.

The Sedgwick County Health Department Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program plans to temporarily suspend in-person appointments starting Monday, according to a county news release.

The program will do phone appointments through Feb. 28.

People who have scheduled appointments will get a phone call within 24 hours of their scheduled time, the release says.

“Remote appointments enable us to provide essential women’s and children’s services while protecting clients and staff during the current surge in COVID-19 cases,” said Dan Clifford, director of the county’s Children and Families Health program.

Anyone who wants to a phone appointment can call (316) 660-7444.
