Police identify man killed in south Wichita motorcycle collision with pickup truck
The person killed in a south Wichita accident on Sunday was 33-year-old Steven Hommertzheim, Wichita police spokesperson Trevor Macy said Thursday.
Hommertzheim, of Wichita, was found dead when officers responded to a collision just after 4 p.m. in the 3800 block of South Seneca, near MacArthur. Hommertzheim was on a motorcycle headed southbound on Seneca when a driver of a pickup truck, headed north, went to make a “left-hand turn into a private drive,” Macy said in a news release.
This is Wichita’s first fatal accident of 2022. There were 43 accidents with 47 fatalities last year.
