A 20-year-old Coldwater woman died early Sunday after the truck she was riding in veered left of center and slammed into a concrete highway barrier in southwest Kansas, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report.

Brittney Marie Turley was in a 2014 Ram 1500 with a 22-year-old relative, also of Coldwater, when the crash happened around 3:35 a.m. on southbound Kansas Highway 1 at mile marker 7, the report says. She died at Comanche County Hospital. Her relative, who was driving, was transported to Wesley Medical Center with possible serious injuries, the report says.

The report didn’t say what caused the driver to cross the center highway line.

Comanche County is in southwest Kansas, along the Oklahoma border.
