Abandoned building near downtown Wichita catches fire

An abandoned building caught fire Saturday evening in the 500 block of South Main, near the intersection with Lewis.

Dispatch said 30 different people called 911 to report the fire around 5:30 p.m. The fire was declared under control at 5:54 p.m.

The source of the fire had not been determined as of Saturday evening. Dispatch said it did not have a report on the size of the fire, but said no one was reported injured.

Officers blocked part of the street for traffic control, but were expected to open the street soon.
