A 43-year-old Tribune man is dead after a crash early Monday morning on Kansas Highway 96 in Greeley County.

Authorities say Derek Longsine was a passenger in a 2011 Kia Rio that went left of center as it was westbound on the highway and drove off the road into a ditch around 5 a.m. The Kia “collided with a culvert and overturned, rolling an unknown number of times before coming to a rest on its top,” according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report.

Three other people in the car — a 20-year-old woman, a 44-year-old woman and a baby strapped into a car seat — were hospitalized with injuries that ranged from minor to serious, the crash report says.

Greeley County in is western Kansas next to the Colorado state line.
