Colorado woman, teenage girl killed in wrong-way crash on I-70 in Gove County: KHP
The drivers of two vehicles involved in a head-on collision on I-70 in Gove County died Saturday, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report. Other people in their vehicles were hospitalized.
The KHP says 38-year-old Christina Satana was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban the wrong direction in the eastbound lanes of I-70 when she struck a 2012 Hyundai Sonata around 12:56 a.m. The Hyundai spun into the highway’s south ditch while the Chevy spun into the median, the highway patrol said.
Satana, of Pueblo, Colorado, and 15-year-old Alexie Echo-Hawk of Mosca, Colorado, who was driving the Hyundai, were killed in the collision, the KHP said.
Three children riding in the Chevy with Satana were hospitalized with possible minor injuries. They are 10, 7, and 4 years old, the KHP said.
A 46-year-old Pawnee, Oklahoma, man who was riding with the teenager also suffered possible minor injuries.
The crash happened about a tenth of a mile east of highway 211, according to the crash report.
