Texas woman, 55, dead after car left road, hit culvert, rolled in Sumner County: KHP
A 55-year-old Texas woman is dead after a vehicle drove off U.S. Highway 81, struck a culvert and rolled Saturday afternoon in Sumner County.
The Kansas Highway Patrols said the 2008 Nissan Sentra that Irene Vazquez De Salinas was riding in landed in a treeline on the west side of the highway near 100th Avenue North about 12:50 p.m.
Vazquez De Salinas, of Pharr, Texas, was killed in the crash. The 64-year-old Texas woman driving the car and two 18-year-old passengers had what the KHP described as suspected minor injuries, but none of them were taken to the hospital.
The car was driving south on U.S. 81 when it went off of the road at milepost 41, the KHP report said.
