Mini Maker Faire coming to Wichita
The international Maker Movement is coming to Wichita next month with the first Wichita Mini Maker Faire on July 18 at Exploration Place.
Inventors and people who make things in most any field — including arts, crafts, engineering, food, music, science, technology and homesteading — can apply to present their project or activity or perform at the fair. They also can share their skill and include a hands-on activity to involve others. Applications must be submitted by July 6; they can be found online, along with more information, at makerfairewichita.com. There is no charge to be a presenter.
Exploration Place is hosting the event along with MakeICT. The faire will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 18 and will be included in Exploration Place admission, or free with membership.
The original Maker Faire was held 10 years ago in San Mateo, Calif.
