Woman critically burned in mobile home fire in south Wichita
A 40-year-old woman was hospitalized Sunday in critical condition from burns sustained in a mobile home fire in Planeview in south Wichita, a Sedgwick County dispatcher said.
The Wichita Fire Department responded shortly before noon to the fire in the 3200 block of South Clifton, acting battalion chief Chad Winton said.
A man and a woman were in the yard when crews arrived, Winton said. The man, whose age was unknown, was treated at the scene, he added.
The fire started in the living room, Winton said, but the cause was still under investigation.
“They did have working smoke detectors,” he said.
The estimated loss for the double-wide mobile home was $90,000, including $60,000 to the structure, Winton said.
