A fundraiser set for Sunday in Wichita Park Cemetery’s rose garden will benefit a local baby battling a rare form of blood cancer.

The Rose Petal Lane Walk is from 2 to 4 p.m. at the cemetery, located on the southeast corner of 25th and Hillside. A collection will be taken up for the family of Eevie Elouise Mulloy, who was diagnosed with congenital acute lymphoblastic leukemia shortly after birth.

The condition affects 1 in 5 million babies born worldwide. About 20 percent of patients survive to age 2.

Eevie’s parents, Wichita police officer Ryan Mulloy and Brynne Mulloy, brought their daughter home for the first time in May, after a six-month hospital stay. Now nearly 1, she will help plant a rose bush during Sunday’s walk in honor of all child leukemia patients.

There is no cost to attend, and the event is open to the public.

It is sponsored by Old Mission Mortuary and Cemetery, 3424 E. 21st St. in Wichita.
