Police: Speed and alcohol possible factors in wreck that killed two, injured one
Two people were killed and one was injured in a single-vehicle crash in east Wichita early Thursday morning.
Wichita police said an Acura TL was headed south in the 200 block of North Webb Road at around 1 a.m. when it left the road and struck a tree.
Police said the car’s driver, Eduardo Viurques, 26, and a passenger, Boris Guzman-Mendoza, 28, both of Wichita, were ejected from the car and were pronounced dead at the scene. A 32-year-old who was also a passenger was taken to a local hospital.
The accident is still under investigation, but police said that “speed and alcohol are believed to be a factor.”
The crash was Wichita’s 35th fatal accident this year.
