Graduation ceremony Friday for new police officers, sheriff’s deputies

Twenty-one law enforcement recruits will graduate Friday from the Wichita-Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center.

The commencement ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Maize High School, 11600 West 45th St. North. The class includes 21 Wichita police officers and eight Sedgwick County sheriff’s deputies.

The recruits have completed 24 weeks of basic law enforcement academy training and will now start 12 weeks of field training, during which they will be partnered with a veteran officer.
