Woman killed, four taken to hospital after head-on collision in southwest Wichita
A 55-year-old woman died Saturday at a hospital after a head-on wreck in southwest Wichita.
Four others were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The accident was reported at 2:16 a.m. at Gilda and MacArthur, just west of Hoover. An Infiniti Q50 was traveling on MacArthur when the driver went onto the shoulder, overcorrected and went into oncoming traffic. The Infiniti crashed with a Toyota Sienna van traveling the opposite direction, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Tim Myers said in an email.
Three people were in the Infiniti and two people in the van, according to Myers. The woman who died was a passenger in the van.
The accident is under investigation, Myers said.
