Victim of Saturday’s deadly crash was 94-year-old Wichita man, police say

Wichita police have identified the victim of Saturday’s deadly crash at 17th and West Streets as 94-year-old Ralph Hunt of Wichita.

Police say Hunt was driving a white Lincoln Town Car west on 17th Street when two trucks traveling south on West Street hit him at about 3:15 p.m. First responders tried to save his life, but he died at the crash scene. A 15-year-old boy in the passenger seat received serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Police say investigators think the trucks — a red Chevrolet Silverado and a tan Silverado — were speeding when they hit Hunt’s car. A 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were driving. The teen received non-life-threatening injuries.
