Good Samaritans help man with medical condition after SUV hits Wichita city bus

Good Samaritans helped rescue a 41-year-old man from an SUV he was driving after it rear-ended a Wichita city bus early Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the man is thought to have “experienced a medical complication” before hitting the transit bus on northbound Rock Road at Harry Street around 12:18 p.m.

Some bystanders who saw the crash “helped pull the 41-year-old from the vehicle to safety,” said Officer Charley Davidson, a Wichita Police Department spokesman.

The man had minor injuries. Paramedics were called to the scene but he wasn’t taken to the hospital.

Police said the bus was empty except for its 51-year-old driver. She wasn’t hurt.
