Man killed in Friday motorcycle crash was 45-year-old Wichitan

Wichita police say speed likely is to blame for a crash that killed a 45-year-old man Friday.

Officer Charley Davidson said Jeremy Wohlford of Wichita was driving a Harley-Davidson north on Maize Road in the area of 13th Street when he lost control and was thrown off of the motorcycle at around 8 p.m. Police who responded to the crash site found Wohlford lying on the road at the intersection with fatal injuries. He died at a Wichita hospital.

“Speed is believed to be a factor in this accident. There were no other injuries,” Davidson said during a Monday morning news briefing that identified Wohlford as the crash victim. Authorities don’t yet know how fast he was driving.

Police are still trying to determine whether any other vehicles were involved.
