Wichita woman killed after being thrown from vehicle as it rolled during crash
A Wichita woman died in a vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Cowley County.
Emergency crews were called at around 3:53 a.m. to an injury accident in the 23000 block of 282nd Road, the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Investigators determined David Charles Filtingberger, 35, of Sedan, was driving when he lost control of a vehicle, and it rolled multiple times. The driver was thrown from the vehicle as it rolled, as was passenger Tristan Nichole Wenke, 23, of Wichita.
Wenke was pronounced dead at the scene, and Filtingberger was taken to a hospital. Another passenger had no apparent injuries requiring hospitalization.
