Winfield woman dead after four-vehicle wreck in Cowley County
A 30-year-old Winfield woman died Thursday morning in a four-vehicle crash on K-15 in Cowley County.
Hilary Archambeau was driving a 1996 GMC Yukon that crossed the highway’s center line into oncoming traffic, sideswiped a car and then struck a semi at about 10:15 a.m., according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report. A fourth vehicle couldn’t avoid the wreckage and also crashed into the semi, the report says.
Archambeau was killed in the collision. It’s unclear what caused her to cross the center line.
The other drivers and passengers involved reported either no or minor injuries. Three were hospitalized, the report says.
