Man dead after being hit by a train

A man was killed by a train around 2 a.m. on Friday morning.

Police say a 20-year-old man, reportedly involved in a car accident near the 2100 block of Southeast Blvd., ran from the scene and called 911, claiming he was the victim of a carjacking.

Minutes later a man matching his description was struck by a train, according to Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza.

“We believe he’s the one that actually got into the accident,” he said. The name of the man killed was not released by police.
