Update: Missing Inman man, 70, found safe
Updated 9:43 a.m. Tuesday: Richard W. Andrus was found in Rice County overnight, according to a news release from the Inman Police Department. He is safe. The Silver Alert issued for him Sunday has been canceled.
Original story: Authorities have issued a statewide Silver Alert for a 70-year-old missing Inman man who has dementia.
Richard W. Andrus’ whereabouts are currently unknown, and authorities are asking the public for help finding him. If you see him call 911 or the Inman Police Department at 620-245-1266.
Andrus was last seen at his home in Inman at about 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to a Kansas Bureau of Investigation news release. Authorities say he may have used a credit card at a Casey’s General Store in Ellsworth on Sunday evening. He may be driving a red 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup with Vietnam Veteran tag 5123. It’s unclear where he might be going.
Andrus is white, about 5-foot-11, 193 pounds, bald and has blue eyes. He was wearing a green jacket and jeans when he was seen last.
