Woman killed in semi-van collision in El Dorado
A 26-year-old woman died in a collision involving a semitractor-trailer in El Dorado Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Melissa Stahlman was driving east on Southwest Trafficway shortly before 8:15 a.m. when her Ford van crossed the center line and struck the trailer axle of a semi coming the other direction, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Stahlman died at the scene of the accident, which was about a half-mile west of Main.
The 50-year-old Wichita man driving the semi suffered minor injuries in the collision, but declined medical treatment, according to the highway patrol report.
